Wow was it ever polluted in Bangkok this visit. We both came down with mild flu symptons within hours of hitting the streets and from our hotel room 33 stories high you could see the thick haze blanketing the city from dusk to dawn.
For this reason it is wise to avoid the many cheap guesthouses in Bangkok and splash out on somewhere decent to stay. Believe me, your lungs will thank you after a few hours on Bangkok's smoggy streets.
